Technology Transfer

Technology Transfer (TT) represents the CNR’s second mission, after the scientific research.

The Technology Transfer Office (TTO@CNR NANOTEC) upports Researchers in developing and implementing the most appropriate strategy for the exploitation of research results (creation of start-ups, spin-offs, know-how and IPR management, etc.), also performing technology assessment studies and business modelling, in order to facilitate the process of innovation.

TTO@CNR NANOTEC promotes the development of the Italian Nanotechnology Innovation Ecosystem setting up partnerships and triggering knowledge spillovers with the different stakeholders, including industries, Research and Technology Organizations, Public Administrations and the Civil Society.

Engagement with companies is undertaken by implementing collaborative research contracts, by coordinating the setup of project proposals addressing National and International calls and by setting up so-called Joint Labs. Joint Labs are working places located in NANOTEC where researchers from companies and the NANOTEC Institute share skills, know-how as well as research facilities in order to jointly manage applied research activities. NANOTEC actually hosts many Joint Labs with companies: ENI, COMEA, EURO BIO FERT, IRCSS Ospedale San Raffaele, Fondazione iit, Fondazione Santa Lucia, KLOPMAN, Mediteknology, STM and Tozzi Green.

TTO@CNR NANOTEC collaboration with Research and Technology Organisations is mainly aimed at supporting researchers in fundraising activities such as writing project proposals, managing Research & Development projects (i.e. www.taranto.cnr.it, http://unihemp.dhitech.it) or networking with potential investors (i.e. Venture Capital Funds).

TTO@CNR NANOTEC contributes to the organization of communication and dissemination events targeting multiple users (including the general public, school students and policy makers) as well as international events (e.g. workshop on Technology Transfer in Nanotechnology – a TTO Circle Initiative).
