Coronavirus (Covid-19): operational guidance to CNR-Nanotec employees
Following ministerial directives aimed at containing the spread of the coronavirus, all activities at the Institute's premises, except for essential services, are interrupted until May 3, 2020. The work continues under the Smart Working regime.
EDGE-Tech: Emerging and Disruptive next-GEneration Technologies for POC. Sensors, Chemistry and Microfluidics for Diagnostics
Due to coronavirus emergency the event is suspended and will be posticipated.
EDGE-Tech Workshop will be focused on new, emerging and disruptive technologies with applications at the Point-Of-Care. International speakers will share their experience in the field of sensors, chemistry and microfluidics as well as technological transfer and project management strategies. In the frame of EU SMILE-Attract project, the event is organized by CNR NANOTEC and STMicroelectronics and will host other projects of Attract network.
LiCryl @ Rende (CS)
The CNR-Nanotec Cosenza establishment takes origin from the historical Liquid Crystals Laboratory – LiCryL, active in the soft matter sciences since the early 80’s. The Unit is located in the Calabria University Campus, in close contact with the academic laboratories and with other CNR institutes. The scientific activities are focused on the physics and chemistry of the soft matter and on its applications in nano-structured systems for advanced micro/nano- optics/photonics/fluidics. New composite nanostructured materials are realized through bottom-up and hybrid bottom-up/top-down fabrication processes.
The Unit is also active in the theoretical and observational aspects of plasma turbulence and in the design of new scientific space missions. Advanced data analysis, theoretical modelling and numerical simulations of complex systems, ranging from bio-molecular complex systems to space and laboratory plasmas, are routinely carried out. We care about the valorisation of the research outcomes through a constant patenting activity and by offering advanced research and technological services. A large part of the research laboratories contributes to the CNR National User Facility Beyond-Nano – Polo di Cosenza and is accessible to external scientists.
